Job Description
Duties
- Responsible to the Director of Science.
- Work with students in grades 4-7 with the ECOS curriculum.
- Develop environmental programs as needed at all levels.
- Work with student teachers and pre-practicum students as needed.
- Work with principals and teachers of all schools for orientation and other in school activities.
- Be responsible for initial first aide treatment as necessary.
- Work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Assist with the continuous alignment of the ECOS program curriculum to the Massachusetts Science and Technology/ Engineering Curriculum Framework.
- Work cooperatively with the ECOS staff and the Director of Science.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications - Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
- Appropriate content/program area educator license (General Science) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred.
- Currently implementing the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework.
- Previous experience in environmental/outdoor education preferred.
- Experience in the development of environmental science curriculum/programs preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with principals, peers, and students.
- Physically capable of performing required duties of a program of this nature.
