Job Description

Duties

  • Responsible to the Director of Science.
  • Work with students in grades 4-7 with the ECOS curriculum.
  • Develop environmental programs as needed at all levels.
  • Work with student teachers and pre-practicum students as needed.
  • Work with principals and teachers of all schools for orientation and other in school activities.
  • Be responsible for initial first aide treatment as necessary.
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Assist with the continuous alignment of the ECOS program curriculum to the Massachusetts Science and Technology/ Engineering Curriculum Framework.
  • Work cooperatively with the ECOS staff and the Director of Science.
  • Other duties as requested.


Qualifications

  • Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
  • Appropriate content/program area educator license (General Science) from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred.
  • Currently implementing the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework.
  • Previous experience in environmental/outdoor education preferred.
  • Experience in the development of environmental science curriculum/programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with principals, peers, and students.
  • Physically capable of performing required duties of a program of this nature.
