PASTRY COOK
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Pastry Cook with hotel or high-volume kitchen experience to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with a strong understanding of baking and dessert presentation. This role supports banquet and event operations by preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods that meet hotel standards for taste, consistency, and visual appeal, while maintaining a clean and efficient workstation in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
OPERATIONAL DUTIES:

Preparing food with proper measurements according to the standard recipe.
*
Maintain cleanliness of workstation and equipment at all times.
*
Properly store food at the right temperature and time.
*
Labeling and dating all food items and rotating product that should be used first.
*
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas associated with your station, such as walk-in cooler, pantry, and reach-in boxes.
*
Notifying a supervisor of any problems that may arise while working.
*
Assisting in guest experience by delivering polite, friendly and helpful experiences.
*
Properly documenting food storage and food waste.
*
Assisting in preparing employee meals banquet style on a daily basis.
*
Using proper mixing techniques, recipe preparation, piping, cake building, and decoration.
*
Have the understanding and knowledge of preparing mousses, custards, and sauces.
*
Operating kitchen/pastry equipment. “Mixers, Tilt Skillets, Ice Cream Machine, etc.”
*
Doing simple math conversions to adhere to the recipe and quantity needed for order.
REQUIREMENTS:
*
Work flexible work schedule which includes weekend and holidays availability
*
Ability to lift to 20 lbs. and carry up to 75 lbs.
*
Ability to push carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
*
Ability to speak, read, and write in English
*
Ability to walk, bend, stoop or stand for prolonged periods
*
Basic understanding of simple math
Minimum of 1-2 years of pastry, baking, or hotel kitchen experience preferred
*
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert production, and large-scale pastry preparation
*
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
*
Proven ability to work cleanly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
*
Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
*
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
*
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe a plus)
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods
*
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
*
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
