At Autonodyne we specialize in the command and control of autonomous vehicles. Our software suite sits at the nexus of Human-Machine Interface & Autonomy Behaviors. We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about unmanned systems. The ideal candidate must be familiar with the Unity game engine and the coding structures used including design patterns, sequencing patterns, decoupling and optimization in C#.
The role is a contract position, with the opportunity to turn into a full-time permanent position.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and work with a team of developers of various skill levels;
· Develop, maintain, and optimize codebase, ensuring optimal performance and usability;
· Act as a point of contact for Unity-related questions, providing technical guidance and mentorship to other team members;
· Use agile and scrum methodologies to prepare, plan and execute on contract-based deliverables;
· Implement GIT version control strategies;
· Develop C# code, test code, fix bugs, profile, and optimize code to meet deliverable requirements;
· Design, develop and maintain command and control station (CCS) for unmanned systems (air, sea, and land) using C# in Unity;
· Review and comment on team members' code as part of the merge request process;
· Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members;
· Support flight test, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
· US Citizenship required;
Bachelor's degree in computer science/ programming or related field;
· 1+ years of experience in a Software Engineering or Unity Game Developer role;
· Demonstrated fluency and understanding of C# and Unity3D with strong coding standards;
· Experience in GIT version-control software;
· Ability to work in a team and develop re-usable commented code;
· Experience profiling and building for performance;
· Demonstrated advanced capabilities with Unity, like extending existing code, complex decision-trees/ state machines, and developing editor tools;
· Ability to quickly grasp and communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely;
· Experienced leader who supports individual growth and a mentor to less experienced team members;
· Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance;
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master's degree in computer science/ programming or related field;
· 2+ years' experience being a lead or Senior Developer;
· Active DoD Secret Clearance;
Travel:
This position has the potential to travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (up to 20%) but global travel is also possible.
Other Criteria:
Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile - relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary.
Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to be granted one desired.
